Leaving incision sites open, Dr. Chugay will place special dressings that will allow the draining fluids to be absorbed. Over these dressings, special compression garment will be placed. Compression garment will cause the skin to adhere tightly to the body, decreasing fibrosis, irregularities and improving your liposuction results.
Some surgeons still use glue-on dressing after liposuction surgery. In that technique special foam is glued to the skin for several days up to a week. Dr. Chugay finds this approach antiquated and unnecessary. A modern compression garment gives much better compression and contouring of tissues.
The reason why some surgeons continue to use such an outdated method is unfathomable. It is, perhaps, composed of inertia and dogmatism.
A food and supplement regimen will be recommended which will decrease edema, swelling, improve healing and decrease fibrosis. Some herbal supplementation will also be recommended. Remember: quicker recovery and reduced swelling will make the liposuction site look better years from now.
Liposuction may not only significantly change your contour, but can also appreciably reduce your body weight. Large volume fat removal must be appreciated as a major physiologic challenge for the patient. Some surgeons performed large volume fat removal operations that resulted in severe body shock and a host of side effects.
Dr. Chugay, using his aggressive technique, less tumescent fluid and external ultrasound, is able to locally remove large volumes of fat safely. However, he still limits his procedure to a safe 5-liter limit per session.
With Dr. Chugay's technique more fat can be safely removed; however, Dr. Chugay does not wish to take any chances. If your require a large-volume liposuction, Dr. Chugay will conduct it as a series of procedures, removing 5 liters at one time. You will love your weight loss results, and it will be done with utmost safety.
