NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Mirror, mirror on the wall -- I don't like the way I look at all.

Think your nose is too big? Want more hair? Tired of all those spare chins? If you're considering cosmetic surgery to improve your appearance, you've got plenty of company.
Tips for picking the tops
If you're considering plastic surgery, experts say you should pick someone who is board certified. That can be difficult since there are several plastic surgery-related boards and you might find it confusing. Remember cosmetic surgery is indeed surgery and you should take it seriously. Nicholas Chugay, a Beverly Hills-based plastic surgeon said it is imperative that you put yourself in competent, seasoned hands. "Look for the surgeon with the best, modern training and technique," Chugay said in a statement, "and the tactical skill of a Michelangelo." Chugay has compiled a list of items consumers should consider before going ahead with cosmetic surgery.

Removal of Muscle Helps Correct Eye Wrinkles
By: Anna Nidecker, Staff Writer
NEW ORLEANS -- Removal of part of the muscle surrounding the eye helps correct crow's-feet, said Dr. Nikolas V. Chugay, a cosmetic surgeon in Long Beach, Calif.
The effects of this procedure last longer than more superficial procedures for smoothing out deep lines around the eyes, such as Botox injections and laser resurfacing, he said at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
"I've seen some patients 5 and 6 years later, and they don't have any recurrence of marked crow's-feet," Dr. Chugay commented.

Women's Health:
Procedure contours sagging derrieres
Tuesday, March 28, 2000 HealthNews Compiled by Detroit News Health Writer Tracy Boyd
Nicholas Chugay, a surgeon in Beverly Hills, Calif., now offers buttock enhancement.
It's a fact of life that most women think their butts are too big, but some women want a curvier, more substantial behind.
A Beverly Hills, Calif., cosmetic and plastic surgeon has developed a procedure designed to "perk up your flagging assets." Before Dr. Nicholas Chugay invented his procedure for buttock augmentation, surgeons used silicone gel implants that left unsightly scars and destroyed skin elasticity, or fat grafting that was eventually absorbed by the body. Chugay doesn't offer details of the procedure but says he's done numerous successful augmentations so far. The augmentation will set you back $6,000 to $8,000, but Chugay says the results are astounding. |
