Minimally Invasive Anesthesia For Cosmetic Surgery

At Chugay Cosmetic Surgery, we are committed to providing quality cosmetic surgery in a comfortable and safe environment.  To that end, we have sought to provide the safest anesthesia possible for our patients.  While we have the capacity in some minor cases to perform the surgery under local anesthesia with mild sedation, we prefer for our larger cases to use a form of anesthesia pioneered by Dr. Barry Friedberg, MD: Goldilock’s Anesthesia.

What is Goldilock’s Anesthesia?

Using Dr. Friedberg’s brain wave monitor (BIS monitor) we are able to tailor the anesthesia to your needs.  We have the capacity to measure your heart rate, your blood pressure, and the oxygen level running through your finger tips and now your brain’s response to anesthesia.  Thanks to PK anesthesia (Propofol Ketamine anesthesia), as pioneered by Dr. Barry Friedberg, we are able to give you just the right amount of anesthetic to meet your needs (like Goldilocks).  We no longer dose anesthetic medications in a “one size fits all” manner.  By monitoring your brain’s response to stimuli during surgery, we can adjust the depth of sedation during the operation without putting you in harm’s way.  With Goldilock’s anesthesia, we give you the security of being asleep during the surgery with the reassurance that you will not be over-medicated or sedated and will awake without the unpleasant nausea and vomiting that can accompany many general anesthesia experiences.
